Classroom Curiosity Salmon

Exciting news!
McKenzie is launching a new series, Classroom Curiosity, where we will spotlight different grades and teachers in action!

Did you know?
Female salmon can lay between 1,000 to 10,000 eggs, but only 15% will hatch.
Eggs hatch after 6-20 weeks and are also the primary food source for Southern Resident Orcas.
This isn’t new information for Mrs.Ill’s second-grade class!
The students put salmon eggs into a fish tank in their classroom so they could observe the growing process.
It was a fun and informative few weeks!
