Classroom Curiosity
McKenzie Middle School art students welcomed local artist and author Robin Lee Carlson to class for a lesson that brought art and the natural world together.
Robin shared how careful observation of nature can inspire art and introduced students to watercolor techniques they could put into practice themselves.
Robin is the author of The Cold Canyon Fire Journals and regularly visits the H.J. Andrews Experimental Forest here in the McKenzie River area, where she uses art to study, document and observe the natural world.
A great opportunity for our students to learn from an artist whose work is inspired by the environment right here in our own backyard.
Thank you to Mr. Josey for capturing these images
