The McKenzie School District 2026–2027 calendar has officially been adopted, and we are excited to share it with you.
From the first day of school on August 31 to graduation on June 5, this calendar helps you plan ahead for another great year at McKenzie.

Middle School Boys Basketball hosts Crow at 4:30 pm.
Our 1st graders are exploring how different bird beaks and duck bills work.
Through hands-on science activities, they are testing which shapes are best for picking up food and which ones might accidentally grab rocks instead, especially in tight spaces.
It’s a fun way to learn about adaptation, observation, and how animals survive in their environments.
Our 4th graders are stepping back in time as they learn about the Oregon Trail.
Students have been researching the journey west, building their own covered wagons, and creating original books to tell the story in their own words.
It has been so fun to see their creativity and attention to detail come to life.
Take a look at their finished wagons and the great work they’ve done. We’re proud of our young historians.

The High School Boys and Girls Basketball teams host Siletz for Senior Night. Boys tip off at 5:30 pm and Girls at 7 pm.
Wednesday
The Middle School Boys Basketball team hosts Alsea for a home game at 4:30 pm.
Thursday
The High School Boys Junior Varsity team travels to Mohawk for a 4 pm game, while the High School Boys Varsity team hosts Mapleton at 6 pm.
Friday
Donkey Basketball returns to McKenzie at 7 pm, featuring the High School Boys and Girls Basketball teams taking on the Alumni.
Athletic Update: Hello Mckenzie Families, unfortunately our High School Girls and JV Boys basketball games vs Riddle are canceled tonight. VARSITY BOYS are still playing a 5:30pm. See you there!

Our Carnation Fundraiser is back, with deliveries happening Thursday, February 12.
