She's one of four siblings and recently graduated with a Master's in Education from The Ohio State University. Breanna says she’s excited to move to Oregon with her partner to be closer to family and explore the beautiful nature. They love going on hikes with their dog, Scout. At home, Scout enjoys the company of their pet tortoise, Carl. Breanna has a passion for history and is excited to meet everyone and join this community. Let's extend a warm welcome to Breanna and make her feel at home!

Some of our McKenzie High School seniors visited Corvallis for Oregon State University's Open House with staff members Lacey Joy and Corey Christensen. They also met up with some McKenzie alums who accompanied the group, touring them around campus and showing off their pride for OSU. This field trip gave current students the exciting opportunity to start thinking about the next steps after high school, what they would like to study, and what it means to be a Beaver.

Exciting news! McKenzie is launching a new series, Classroom Curiosity, where we will spotlight different grades and teachers in action! Did you know? Female salmon can lay between 1,000 to 10,000 eggs, but only 15% will hatch. Eggs hatch after 6-20 weeks and are also the primary food source for Southern Resident Orcas. This isn’t new information for Mrs.Ill’s second-grade class! The students put salmon eggs into a fish tank in their classroom so they could observe the growing process. It was a fun and informative few weeks!
