McKenzie ABS is out spreading some holiday cheer to our students via hot chocolate, candy canes, and encouraging messages from their teachers!
As many of you may know we had to evacuate campus today due to a bomb threat. During this evacuation all students and staff were safe and accounted for. Students and staff alike did a wonderful job of adhering to our evacuation procedures and protocol. Local law enforcement and partners have determined that the campus is safe and we plan to be in session tomorrow Tuesday December 18th. Naturally, there are a lot of conversations happening at home tonight with your students about today's events. The younger students may not know the specifics of the threat. Many of the older students however, may be aware of the nature of the threat. We will have a Care Room open tomorrow for student and staff use; a counselor will be available. Typically we would like to send communication home with students after an incident but due to limited access to buildings, we were unable to do so. Thank you for your patience, understanding and support. If you have any further questions feel free to contact the Elementary at (541)822-3315 or High School at (541)822-3313. We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow at our regular time.
All activities canceled for the remainder of the day. All students and staff are safe and accounted for and are on their way home if they were not already picked up. Thank you for your flexibility and understanding today!
McKenzie School District received a bomb threat this afternoon. In the interest of safety for our students and staff we have evacuated to the McKenzie Community Track. All students and staff are safe and accounted for. We are coordinating with local law enforcement agencies. Classes will be canceled for the remainder of the day. Students will be sent home as soon as can be arranged.
